Bill Lord


Bill Lord was born at Hobart, Tasmania on 12.07.1919.

He was resident at Sandy Bay upon his enlistment at Hobart on 12.06.1940.

Bill was a close mate of Ron Ware and they managed to spend much of their leave together.

Bill Lord was discharged from the 2nd 8th as a Lance Bombardier on 17.12.1945, but he stayed on in the army after the war, retiring at age 50, with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

Known as “Jitter” to his mates, Bill passed away on 23.10.2000.
